Life goes on

My friend R. who arrived in the UK asks me to share this text with all of you, members of the Platform… 😍:

« I am not posting this letter on my own facebook page because of personal reasons.

Once, when I was in Anima’s house, one of my family members texted me: “Man, how are you? Are you in England?” I said “No. I have stopped trying. I am tired and I have given up. I will never try from now on”. After he said something to me, I started wearing my clothes and shoes and went out to try, but I was not lucky. Do you know what he said to me? Only one sentence made me go out and try: “Man, if you don’t go, in the future, you will never have what you want”.
By the way, it was very difficult and hard for me to fast this Ramadan. Many people said to me “Don’t fast. It’s not an obligation or duty for you to fast in this conditions”. They were right, but I, as you know, am stubborn and won’t listen sometimes.

When I was fasting, I was often in Anima’s house. Sometimes I would go out from her house to take a train at around 21:00 because the last train was at 21:28, and the end of fasting was at 21:40. I didn’t have a choice. I would take some food in a tupperware and go to the trying place. When I got there, it was eating time, but I couldn’t eat alone because there were many people trying, so we shared. The next day would be very difficult for me.

Out of the 30 days I didn’t fast for one day because I was sick but then I continued. The last day of Ramadan it paid me back and I entered England!

So now it’s time to thank you all.
My life has been so blessed with some of the most amazing people. When I was sad during my journey I got so much happiness and joy from all of you. I am lucky to have you all. Thank you for being a part of my journey. Do you know why I was so strong and what kept me moving forward towards my goal? It’s simple. I knew that people had my back. I knew that I had a family to support me, to give me motivation and to love. Because I knew that I had a family that would take care of me. And it’s all of you. Thank you for all of your support no matter what.I “Thank you” is not enough to express all the gratitude that I feel for you. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you have done for me. I realise I don’t thank you enough. I apologise for that.

“The small journey ends, but still, I have a long journey ahead”
